Here is a letter just for you...

I see you.

Balancing the work deadlines, zoom calls for multiple family members, forcing that face mask on your kid, remembering to order the grocery delivery, putting in extra effort to make COVID Halloween at least somewhat special, catching up on election news…

And all the while feeling completely disengaged and unhappy.

Yes, I see you.

Happiness feels a bit elusive, doesn’t it? You’re not sure what you really want anymore.

Before kids, it all seemed pretty clear. Work hard, move up the ladder, make good money, start a family, but now...

You’re 10+ years into your career, put in many extra hours, landed promotions, but it doesn’t feel right anymore.

The tradeoff of being away from your kiddos (and using all your good energy at work) just doesn’t feel worth it.

Your role as a mom is supposed to be more important than your job…but it doesn’t feel that way.

You feel bound by the golden handcuffs.

The best word to describe how you feel? Stuck.

Stuck in a job that pays well but doesn’t make you happy.

Stuck in a habit of putting everyone else’s happiness before your own.

Stuck in a feeling of guilt.

You want more out of life…in fact, you know you were made for more!

You want to feel a sense of purpose every day.

To feel like what you are doing matters and it is worth being away from your family to do it.

You want to prioritize your health and feel good when you look in the mirror.

You want to build forts with your kids, bake cookies and go on dandelion walks.

You want to feel confident, have a lot more fun and stop questioning yourself.

More than anything you don’t want to regret this season of life. You don’t want to look back and wish that you’d spent more time with your kids when they were young AND you don’t want to regret never going after a career that meant something to you.

My friend, I see you.
